This week, we look at things you should be thinking about most when deciding on a poker bonus that's right for you.

  1. Does the bonus work for my bankroll? There are plenty of bonuses you can find online that offer massive chunks of free cash for players; if you can clear it out in time. If you have $2,000 to play with and a site offers a 100% up to $2,000 bonus, it may seem attractive, but if you bust? You miss out on anything you didn't clear out. You may be better off with a 200% up to $500 type, which gives you 4 shots at clearing the bonus.
  2. Will the bonus clear out easily? This can be tricky for some players. When they see a no deposit or 300%+ bonus on a site, they may jump into the site thinking it's easy and free money, only to find out it's incredibly hard to clear out. It pays to read the fine print and see just how much time it'll take to clear your bonus out; that $5,000 bonus could take a year's worth of play to see the light of day.
  3. Am I getting the best value for my deposit? This is where shopping and taking a good look at each individual site pays off. There are a huge list of factors that can play a role in where a $500 deposit would best pay off for you in terms of clearing it out; traffic, VIP systems, time limits on clearing the deposit out, reload bonuses or free bankrolls that can add value if you want a trial or if things go bad, and a smart player will look at a few sites before determining which one earns his deposit. Take a careful look at your options before depositing, and you'll get the most bang for your buck.
