How Our Free Bankroll Rankings Work

For each bankroll, we assign ratings to various aspects of the offer. These ratings, along with details explaining the rating, can be found on each bankroll page as shown to the right.

What exactly do our ratings cover?

• The structure of the bankroll - Most free bankrolls spread out the payments over a period of time or in stages as the player hits certain play targets. This rating indicates how favorable the structure of the bankroll is to the player, with the highest ratings going to rooms that get players the most money for the lowest amount of rake.
• Terms and conditions of the offer - Evaluation of any and all sneaky fine print or terms that might diminish the value of the bankroll. Does not include withdrawal requirements; those are handled in a separate rating.
• Quality of the room offering the bankroll - A general rating regarding the size, software and reputation of the poker room. We also offer in-depth reviews for many of the poker rooms listed on IPM.
• Withdrawal restrictions associated with the offer - This rating answers the question: How easy does the room make it to withdraw the bankroll and any winnings? Some offers have far more significant restrictions than others.
• Run-it-up - The chance the room gives you to grow an even larger bankroll without making a deposit via the promotions and bonuses (along with other perks like VIP rewards) a room offers.

The average of an offer's rating in all of those five individual categories generates the overall ranking for that offer. In general, we give higher ratings to rooms with clear terms and no tricky withdrawal requirements even if the bankroll amounts tend to be a bit on the smaller side and lower ratings to bankrolls that sound good up front, but end up being frustrating due to all of the hoops you're forced to jump through to see any real money.
